Event chains
The A New Species is an event that is inevitable as long as main species Pops live on a colony with less than 40% 
Habitability. The eventual reward is an additional subspecies with additional traits.
Initial events[]
A New Species
Many of the [species name] inhabitants on [colony name] have turned to genetic modification to help them cope with the [planet or moon]'s hostile environment. The changes they have made to themselves are being passed on to their offspring, and their physical appearance is changing at an alarming rate. They have started referring to themselves as "[random name]".

Rising Tensions
Tensions between the [self-modified species name] population on [colony name] and the [main species name] they share the planet with are rising. Several attacks have been carried out by individuals on both sides, including at least two bombings. Both sides of this conflict are radicalizing, and more acts of violence seem likely.

Tension events[]
The tension events will all take place after the Rising Tensions event. Once all tension events have been triggered the event chain will end with no further notice.
Representative visits
A representative from the [self modified species name] communities on [colony name] has traveled to [capital name] to voice the grievances of his people. According to him, [self modified species name] are subjected to widespread discrimination by the [main species name] authorities on his homeworld, and he is demanding we take immediate action to improve the situation.

Modified Species Massacred
A [main species name] extremist militia group recently staged an attack against a major [self modified species name] city on [colony name]. The inhabitants were massacred by the thousands and their homes razed to the ground. A message left by the attackers on the planetary datanet simply states:
[colony name] belongs to the [main species name]!"

Main Species Massacred
Heavy fighting has been reported from the rural areas of [colony name]. There have been several clashes between [self modified species name] and [main species name] irregulars. The [self-modified species plural] appear to have won the day, and their guerrillas have burned down many settlements. Civilian casualties are high.

Increased Fertility
The [self modified species plural] on [colony name] have made alterations to their DNA. Not only has their fertility been dramatically increased, but their children now reach adulthood much faster than normal [main species plural]. [self modified species name] population numbers may soon be increasing at an exponential rate.

Increased Strength
In responts to the violent confrontations between [self modified species name] and [main species name] inhabitants on [colony name], the [self modified species plural] have taken their genetic modifications one step further. They are now both stronger and faster, while their bodies can take punishment that would kill normal [self modified species plural].
Just two unarmed [self modified species plural] reportedly killed at least a dozen members of a [main species name] militia in a recent incident. We may be looking at a dangerous escalation.
